About the role

  • Lead a supplier quality engineering team to drive quality improvement initiatives
  • Drive quality strategies to develop a proactive culture of quality
  • Ensure Quality Management System provides products meeting customer needs with on-time delivery
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, design engineering, and quality assurance
  • Develop, maintain, monitor, and issue resolution to ensure compliant parts
  • Support New Product Introduction for product development and launch
  • Provide leadership to Supplier Quality Engineers and collaborate with Receiving Inspection Manager
  • Manage Supplier Corrective Action Request program for strategic suppliers
  • Develop and implement supplier performance initiatives, including management and certification
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve issues, drive corrective actions, and enhance performance
  • Initiate targeted Zero Defect Plans with suppliers
  • Oversee supplier change requests and ensure proper approval/documentation
  • Develop and implement supplier surveillance program for critical suppliers
  • Identify, develop, or maintain supplier quality KPI’s supporting standard reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience
  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent
  • Experience embedding advance quality concepts into New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Proficient with applied statistics in manufacturing
  • Optical and/or Electronics Manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Familiarity with IEC 60812 (FMEA) and MIL‑STD‑882E (System Safety), or equivalent standards for other industries
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Zero Defect Planning (ZDP)
  • Previous experience utilizing ETQReliance, Expo Quality Collaboration, and CostPoint
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP planning software
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience & certification preferred
  • Proficiency in risk management tools (FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, 8D problem solving)
  • Understanding and application of domestic and international regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for data-driven decision making
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for supplier engagement.
