About the role
- Identify and analyze potential markets, industries, and customer segments
- Conduct competitive analysis to understand the market landscape
- Develop strategies for lead generation and identify prospective clients
- Network and build relationships with prospective clients through various channels
- Develop and execute sales strategies that align with the company’s business goals
- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Utilize CRM software to track client interactions, manage sales pipelines, and analyze data
- Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships and alliances
- Track and analyze key performance metrics to measure success
- Develop and manage budgets related to business development activities
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities
- Mentor and develop junior team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or a related field
- MBA or a master’s degree in a relevant field is advantageous
- Proven experience (typically 5-7 years) in business development, sales, marketing, or related field
- Experience within the specific industry of the company
- Ability to develop and implement effective business development strategies
- Proficiency in sales and negotiations to close deals and secure partnerships
- Strong analytical skills to identify market opportunities and threats
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for presentations and proposals
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while meeting deadlines and goals
- Experience with CRM software for tracking and managing client interactions and sales pipelines
- Understanding of financial metrics and budget management
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing market conditions
