About the role
- Produce optimized loudspeaker system designs using L Acoustics design tools (Soundvision, LA Network Manager, or equivalent), CAD, and acoustic modeling.
- Define speaker selection, placement, aiming, processing, and rigging plans to meet SPL, coverage, and intelligibility targets.
- Perform electro acoustic calculations (SPL budgets, delay and level settings, time alignment, FIR filtering) and simulate performance for various listening zones.
- Create detailed deliverables: system drawings, BOMs, rigging plans, coverage plots, measurement reports, and commissioning notes.
- Prepare fixed installation documentation (installation diagrams, cable schedules, rack layouts, and specifications).
- Coordinate with project managers, integrators, architects, and contractors to align technical requirements and site constraints.
- Support on site commissioning, verification, and acceptance testing, including measurements (SPL mapping, impulse response, RT60), tuning, and final optimization.
- Troubleshoot acoustic, electrical, and networking issues; liaise with R&D and product support for resolution.
- Provide pre sales technical consultation and generate proposals that address performance, cost, and logistical constraints.
- Deliver customer training, workshops, and product demos for integrators, sound engineers, and internal teams.
- Act as a technical liaison between sales, product management, and customers during the sales and installation lifecycle.
- Collect field feedback and performance data to inform product development and documentation updates.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles, application notes, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Acoustical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field, or equivalent hands ‑ on experience.
- 5+ years’ of experience in pro audio system design, AV integration, or live sound engineering; experience with L ‑ Acoustics systems preferred within the LATAM region.
- Proficiency with acoustic modeling tools (e.g., Soundvision / Soundvision LA, EASE, or similar) and measurement software (Smaart, ARTA, Room EQ Wizard).
- Strong understanding of loudspeaker behavior, coverage patterns, array theory, DSP, networking (Dante/AVB/AES67), and rigging/ safety practices.
- Competence with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and MS Office; experience generating technical drawings and BOMs.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, technical documentation, and cross ‑ functional collaboration.
- Ability to travel for site surveys, commissioning, and customer support.
