About the role
- Lead and implement L.A. Care’s strategic communication initiatives
- Oversee communications and public relations campaigns, media relations, and internal communications
- Support executive leadership with messaging and talking points
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans to support organizational goals
- Manage media relations strategy and serve as point of contact for journalists
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support organizational change, culture, and employee experience
- Monitor performance metrics across communication channels
- Manage staff, including monitoring performance, mentoring, and training
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Related Field
- At least 5 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, media relations, or corporate communications
- At least 3 years leading staff or supervisor/management experience
- Experience leading teams, projects, initiatives or cross-functional groups
- Experience developing and executing communications strategies that support business objectives
- Experience supporting executive leadership with messaging, talking points, speeches, and thought leadership content
- Experience in media relations, crisis communications, and reputation management
- Experience managing internal communications, employee engagement, and organizational storytelling (preferred)
