Solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across platforms and services
Manage systems data for clients and provide day-to-day solutions and security compliance
Oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver solutions
Provide direct technical support for planning, coordination, installation, implementation and testing of z/OS releases, upgrades, or changes
Diagnose z/OS platform system and product issues and perform root cause analysis
Analyse performance issues and provide technical consultation to other IT teams
Support new product installation and evaluation and participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests
Recommend modernization options, identify new business opportunities, and cultivate relationships with other teams and stakeholders
Lead daily operations meetings and contribute as technical lead on projects impacting z/OS platform
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of experience in z/OS System Administration environment with work management, user management, journal management and performance management
Act as support and domain expert for z/OS operating system and system components; provide direct technical support in planning, coordination, installation, implementation and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to z/OS OS, network, and component software
Primary support for assigned ISV products and diagnose z/OS platform system and product issues with root cause analysis
Analyse performance issues and provide technical consultation to other IT technical teams
Support for new product installation and evaluation as needed
Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests as scheduled
Assume personal responsibility for resolving problems within SLA and preventing problems
Lead daily Operations meetings (when no P1 incidents)
Aid with identifying problem management trends
Validated knowledge in z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM, Third party products
Proven experience in providing support for ISV products
Demonstrated ability on BRMS, Tape management, ATL/VTL for Tape Libraries
Ability to recognize complex problems related to functional objectives and implement solutions
Can act as the technical lead on internal team projects
