About the role
- Architect and implement integration solutions using IBM MQ, REST APIs, and event-driven patterns
- Lead application migration efforts from legacy platforms (e.g., AS/400, mainframe, HP Tandem, on-prem ERP) to cloud-native environments
- Design and document integration flows, message schemas, and middleware configurations
- Collaborate with application, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless connectivity and interoperability
- Define and enforce integration standards, security protocols, and performance benchmarks
- Evaluate and recommend tools for messaging, transformation, and orchestration (e.g., IBM App Connect, MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services)
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues and optimize message throughput and reliability
- Support DevOps teams in CI/CD pipeline integration for messaging components
- Mentor developers and junior architects on integration best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise integration architecture
- Hands-on expertise with IBM MQ (configuration, clustering, security, monitoring)
- Strong understanding of application migration strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor)
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid integration models
- Proficiency in messaging protocols (JMS, AMQP), API design, and service-oriented architecture
- Familiarity with ETL tools, data lakes, and real-time streaming (Kafka, Azure Event Hub)
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
