About the role
- As a Junior Proposal Writer, you’ll work closely with the Proposal Manager, technical subject matter experts, content contributors, teammates, and business development leaders.
- You will participate in many stages of the proposal development lifecycle (PDLC) from solicitation analysis through content development, review and editing, to final production.
- You’ll work closely with contributors, especially technical solution teams, to ensure all contributed content is well-written, meets standards, and, most importantly, clearly demonstrates how the proposed solution meets the client’s needs.
- In between proposals, you’ll work with the Proposal Manager to ensure content assets are created or updated, maintaining a high-quality, robust library.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience writing content in a business, technical, or academic setting
- Must have excellent writing skills, including the ability to write persuasive and narrative content that is concise, yet thorough
- Must be able to follow style guidelines, such as voice, tense, capitalization conventions, and formatting/layout conventions
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to adapt to KL&A’s processes and tools
- Capable of performing research and/or collaborating with subject matter experts to understand and synthesize concepts to create new content
- Must be able to think strategically and work collaboratively with the proposal team to cultivate win themes and value propositions to apply them throughout proposal content
- Experience effectively conveying information to audiences of all skill levels
- Must be able to proofread and edit contributed content
- Must be able to champion practices that uphold quality standards and contribute to continuous process improvement throughout the proposal development life cycle
- Must be self-motivated with a desire and drive to continuously learn and grow as a professional and as an individual
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills (English) with the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders
