About the role
- Shape, contribute to and participate. You will take strategic overall responsibility for internal and external communications at HKW, including press, PR, digital communications and marketing
- Develop and implement overarching national and international communication and media strategies in close coordination with the Artistic Directorate
- Lead the coordination and further development of the communications team (press, assistants, database, digital communications and marketing)
- Design and manage project-related press strategies in close collaboration with curators, partner institutions and the Artistic Directorate
- Be responsible for editorial press releases, statements, strategic messaging and communication guidelines, as well as quality control of all communication materials
- Manage the development, maintenance and expansion of media networks, including strategic media partnerships and growth of digital reach
- Plan, manage and execute press-relevant events, shoots and photo sessions, ensuring the necessary organizational and technical conditions
- Conduct analysis, monitoring and continuous development of communications measures, including KPI evaluation, evaluation reports and media resonance analysis
Requirements
- University degree in communications, media studies, journalism, cultural studies, arts and cultural mediation or public relations
- Several years of professional experience in press work, PR and strategic communications, ideally in the cultural sector or comparable institutions
- Experience developing and implementing complex communication strategies and project-related media concepts
- Proven leadership experience and competence in managing interdisciplinary communications teams
- Strong editorial skills; confident in producing press releases, statements, strategy texts and communication materials
- Experience building and maintaining resilient media networks and implementing media partnerships
- Routine in coordinating press-relevant events, shoots and photo productions, including interface management
- Knowledge of digital communications, cross-media strategies and basics of KPI analysis
- Experience in packaging/publication communication, text and image editing, and coordination with design/production
- Experience in cultural institutions or programming organisations with an arts- and cultural-policy profile
- Experience in crisis communications and drafting strategic messaging rules
- Language skills: German C2 and English C1
