Financial Crime

• Provide expert second line financial crime advice, challenge and oversight to protect Kroo Bank and its customers from financial crime risk.
• Manage and execute financial crime compliance and system monitoring programmes to ensure the bank’s activities align with UK regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Update and maintain financial crime policies, standards and procedures, ensuring alignment with the UK regulatory framework including the FCA handbook, POCA, TACT and JMLSG guidance.
• Assist in designing and delivering business wide risk assessments, country risk assessments and other thematic risk assessments in line with regulatory expectations.
• Manage and progress follow up actions from risk assessments, reviews and audits to strengthen the financial crime control framework and ensure timely remediation.
• Enhance and produce financial crime related management information and dashboards, using tools such as Lightdash and Excel to support effective senior management oversight.
• Provide regular reports and updates to senior stakeholders and executive committees on the bank’s financial crime risk profile, key issues and emerging themes.
• Deliver financial crime gap analysis, review and assurance papers, identifying areas for improvement and recommending proportionate enhancements to controls.
• Conduct regular horizon scanning to identify emerging financial crime risks, regulatory changes and industry trends, assessing their potential impact on Kroo Bank.
• Produce concise summary papers and briefings for senior stakeholders and executive committees, translating technical regulations into clear and actionable insights.
• Work closely with first line, Compliance, Legal, Risk and other teams to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to financial crime risk management across the bank.
• Foster a strong culture of financial crime compliance and awareness, supporting the design and delivery of communications and training to ensure colleagues understand their responsibilities.
• Carry out other duties as assigned to meet business needs and support the wider Financial Crime function.

Financial Crime Advisory Officer

• **What you’ll do: **
• - Monitor customer transactions using financial crime detection systems to identify potential fraud, money laundering, or other suspicious activities.
• - Proactively identify financial crime trends by conducting periodic or event based enhanced due diligence reviews.
• - Investigate flagged transaction monitoring alerts to determine their nature, risk, and necessary follow-up actions, including the preparation of investigations.
• - Contribute to the development and fine-tuning of detection models and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in identifying financial crimes.
• - Use a range of intelligence tools to effectively assess the potential financial crime risk presented by customers.
• - Compile and maintain investigation records for regulatory compliance and reporting purposes.
• - Stay updated on financial crime and compliance regulations to ensure practices are current.
• - Work collaboratively with other departments to share insights and support the prevention strategy against financial crime.
• - Participate in training and development opportunities to bolster knowledge and skills in financial crime detection and prevention.
• - Handle escalations from the Customer Service team, providing practical advice on required actions for both customers and the bank.
• - Support the Financial Crime Operations Team Lead in optimising and updating processes, systems, and procedures to maintain effectiveness.
• - Use Financial Crime systems to check for and document malicious actors, ensuring detailed records are kept to aid investigations.

Senior Financial Crime Analyst – Detection

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Communicate directly with customers via in-app chat, email and telephone
• Support the implementation of arrears, forbearance/collections and vulnerability procedures; take ownership of the successful delivery
• Play a central role in the day-to-day management of loan lifecycle events
• Help shape the Lending Operations function and supporting the Head of Business Operations and Head of Lending
• Produce reports on key metrics

Collections and Financial Wellbeing Specialist

Compliance

• This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the bank’s regulatory compliance framework.
• You will ensure we meet our obligations across all current activities, including Retail Deposits, Retail Savings and Lending, while preparing the compliance function for upcoming strategic initiatives, including SME lending and loan book transactions.
• As the SMF16, you will provide high-level oversight of our policies, monitoring, and regulatory relationships.
• Advising on the legal and regulatory requirements of new and existing business activities, including retail deposits, savings products, and consumer lending.
• Providing compliance oversight and challenge on lending strategy, including origination, underwriting, servicing, and arrears management, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and good customer outcomes.
• Establishing and maintaining an effective compliance framework, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory obligations.
• Providing compliance input into loan portfolio transactions, including loan book sales, structured disposals, and forward flow arrangements, ensuring appropriate customer, conduct, and regulatory considerations are addressed.
• Advising on and overseeing compliance implications of commercial arrangements with third parties, including funding partners, servicers, and portfolio purchasers.
• Monitoring regulated activities to identify instances of non-compliance and ensuring appropriate remediation and escalation.
• Managing the compliance monitoring framework, including policies, procedures, and thematic reviews across deposits, savings, and lending activities.
• Overseeing compliance training programmes, including conduct rules and financial crime, ensuring they remain effective and up to date.
• Maintaining and updating compliance policies and procedures in line with evolving regulatory requirements, including the FCA Handbook and Consumer Duty expectations.
• Championing customer outcomes, including oversight of complaints.
• Supporting governance frameworks, including allocation of prescribed responsibilities and oversight of regulatory reporting obligations.
• Providing clear, effective reporting and challenge to senior management and Board-level committees on compliance risks and issues.
• Oversee bank’s obligations under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime, including conduct rule training and Management Responsibility Map.
