About the role
- Assist on a range of valuation advisory services to the alternative asset community
- Develop deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets
- Review investment memoranda, governing documents of structured investments, board of directors’ presentations, and client models
- Assist the team with interviewing clients, to gather data and information pertinent to the engagement
- Design financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, and option pricing analyses
- Perform valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments
- Compile statistical summaries of companies’ financial information and develop financial ratios
- Work with management to build and maintain client relationships
- Report and present analyses and conclusions including written reports
Requirements
- CA, Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or equivalent thereof (e.g., CFA); or MBA from an accredited college/university
- Minimum 0-1 year of experience constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including: enterprise valuation using DCF & market approaches, and other structured investment models.
- Experience with credit analysis or structured securities experience is a plus: CLOs, CMBS, RMBS, ABS, etc., Intex or other tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats and limitations
- Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and policies produced and amended from time to time by the AICPA and other oversight bodies
- Knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Direct experience working with VBA, Python, and Power BI is highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities
- Experience working with diverse teams
