Mid-level Community Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Management of volunteers: You maintain an overview of our volunteers, monitor activity, and ensure up-to-date, well-structured data.
- Contact person for organizational matters: You support volunteers with questions about procedures, processes, and framework conditions—without providing subject-matter guidance for their tasks.
- Application and onboarding process: You manage the entire process from reviewing new applications and introductory meetings to our structured onboarding.
- Community events (online & offline, across Germany): You plan and organize formats such as summer meetups, end-of-year events, mailing campaigns, town-hall meetings, or creative community events—with plenty of room for your own ideas.
- Fostering engagement & belonging: You strengthen volunteers’ commitment, encourage exchange, and help create a lively community spirit.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Communication Studies, Business Administration (e.g., Business Psychology), or a comparable field
- Experience in community management, volunteer management, or network management is a plus
- Initial experience in project management and organizing more complex processes
- Excellent communication skills and enjoyment of working with people
- Structured, reliable, and independent way of working
- Experience building engagement, motivation, and retention in communities
- Confident use of digital tools and platforms (e.g., Slack, Airtable, Google Workspace)
- Ideally experience in event organization (online & offline)
