About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns accurately and on time, while tracking filing requirements, deadlines, and regulatory changes.
- Research, interpret, and apply state and local sales tax laws using tax research platforms and government resources.
- Analyze complex tax issues and develop practical, compliant solutions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and recommend process improvements to maintain compliance.
- Provide outstanding internal client service by responding to tax-related questions and supporting business operations.
- Utilize financial spreadsheets and accounting software to reconcile tax data and prepare reporting.
- Research and respond to tax notices and assist with audit inquiries and correspondence.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four or more years of experience in sales and use tax or a related tax/accounting role.
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Accounting preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, financial spreadsheets, and accounting software.
- Experience responding to tax notices and working with auditors is a plus.
