About the role
- Responsible contact person for applications and manufacturing processes in the field of additive manufacturing
- Research and further development of methods and processes in additive manufacturing
- Planning, coordination and execution of process development work in our technical center and at customers' and partners' sites at home and abroad
- Evaluation and documentation of test results
- Derivation and implementation of optimizations based on experiments and test evaluations in collaboration with other disciplines (control engineering, machine development/design, etc.)
- Management of subprojects and support for partner and publicly funded projects
- Creation of machine code using slicer and CAM tools to optimize the manufacturing process
- Testing and further development of slicers and CAM tools
- Definition of requirements for additive manufacturing systems based on applications and manufacturing processes
- Assessment of the manufacturability of components and workpieces using additive manufacturing
- Development of printing strategies for development trials
- Advising customers and internal stakeholders regarding applications and manufacturing processes in additive manufacturing
- Contributing to the development of complex systems, equipment and fixtures
- Point of contact for team members from other disciplines (such as product management, design, system owners, control engineers, etc.)
Requirements
- Completed technical degree, ideally in mechanical engineering or plastics engineering with additional qualifications in the context of additive manufacturing
- Very extensive experience with slicers (e.g., Cura, Simplify3D, Magics, AI Build)
- Extensive experience with CAM (e.g., Siemens NX CAM)
- Experience with CAD systems (Creo)
- Solid knowledge of plastics engineering (thermoplastics), fiber-reinforced composite materials, manufacturing processes (especially milling) and in tooling & mold making
- Several years of practical experience in the field of additive manufacturing, including operation of production equipment, is an advantage
- Competence in executing and leading projects
- Business-fluent English
- Independent, analytical and results-oriented working style, flexibility and willingness to travel
