About the role
- Build out and lead Kraken’s global KOL marketing strategy and execution, including managing a BD team focused regionally.
- Scale our process to source, contract, and manage dozens of KOLs on every continent. This will include improved technology, outsourcer relationships in ROW geos, and process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with financial influencer laws around the world with the appropriate disclaimers, content monitoring, and compensation terms.
- Negotiate deals that are attractive in a competitive KOL space but deliver strong ROI to Kraken.
- Attract top KOLs across a variety of categories - pro trading, crypto analysis, investment allocation, and peripheral interest topics.
- Develop KOL content and creative strategies directly with KOLs to position Kraken’s brand and encourage adoption of Kraken products to fulfill various use cases.
- Develop local-first ideas with KOL partners that generate attention, are persuasive vs competitors, and drive a strong CTA.
- Build out unique new partnership models.
- Roll your sleeves up - this may include recruiting KOLs in digital or in-person spaces, building influencer web pages, sharing content on social media, co-creating content, holding influencer events, and community management.
- Measure results of KOL partnerships; adjust strategy and individual deals for increasing effectiveness.
Requirements
- 7+ years in the crypto space, with experience building out a KOL program
- Significant experience with crypto KOLs, especially traders
- A proven track record in growing new users in a highly competitive and regulated environment.
- Experience working with partners in regions all over the world
- Advanced crypto knowledge including how crypto products work, crypto revenue models, and the crypto players in your region.
- Existing relationships with crypto and adjacent industry influencers. Candidate should be expected to bring a strong network and convert to Kraken on day 1
- Experience with software to manage KOLs across the deal’s lifecycle and scaling processes to handle >100 KOLs
- Experience across a large product suite, where we may leverage different KOLs to promote multiple topics and products
- Strong experience leveraging marketing analytics, including how to measure partnership success
- We will strongly assess creative thinking; we are looking for people that have growth ideas grounded in logic and data, while being capable of supporting their ideas and persuading others to enact them
