About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • - Daily processing and control of related financial transactions.
  • - Ensure all payments and settlements are made on time.
  • - Monitor and report daily position of Kora’s settlement accounts.
  • - Provide the supervisor with updated information on outstanding items to minimise risk.
  • - Daily verification and matching of all clearing and settlement accounts.
  • - Monitor and provide supporting comments daily, weekly, and monthly to the team lead on ageing entries outstanding on clearing-related accounts.
  • - Running and execution of daily reports.
  • - Prompt and accurate delivery of funds to customers and banks to create a positive corporate image and minimise claims.
  • - Maintain and manage treasury and settlement files, bank records, financial logs and reports.
  • - Maintain, manage and update settlement data.
  • - Review and ensure compliance with policies and procedures and country regulatory requirements.
  • - Provide support on audit issues about operational issues, including management response, follow-up, correction and reporting.
  • - All other duties aligned with payments and settlements as directed by management.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • - 1–3 years of experience in a tech start-up and/or high-growth start-up and/or fast-paced, hypergrowth environment is preferred.
  • - Proficiency with the Google Office suite; data-analytics skills are a plus
  • - Hands-on knowledge of Operational control / Reconciliation functions
  • - Attention to detail
  • - Problem Analysis
  • - Time Management, Planning and organisation skills
  • - Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • - Quality and customer focus
  • - Ability to operate with a sense of urgency while not compromising on quality.
  • - Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients and an ability to influence stakeholders.
  • - You are exceptionally driven and autonomous.
