About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build and operate backend services and REST APIs in TypeScript/Node.js
Integrate and monitor interfaces to POS, customer and partner systems
Implement rule-based checks and approval/exception workflows technically
Contribute to architecture: clarify requirements, evaluate options, make trade-offs
Implement security, data protection and traceability (auth, encryption, audit logs)
Ensure performance, scalability and stability for production
Write meaningful tests — from unit through integration to end-to-end
Expand observability: logging, monitoring and alerting for your endpoints and the overall software
Close collaboration with Platform

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of senior backend engineering experience, ideally with TypeScript/Node.js
Experienced in designing and operating REST APIs and integrating external interfaces
Confident with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases and clean data models including auditing
Understanding of complex rule-based business logic and workflows
Security mindset: OAuth2/JWT, authorization concepts, secure data flows
Pragmatism between code quality and delivery, plus enjoyment in architectural sparring
Initiative with ambiguous requirements: ask questions, structure, challenge the business
Fluent German, good command of English
Experience in regulated environments is a plus
