About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform quality control duties overseeing construction and maintenance of solar installations across multiple projects
  • Control quality according to project plans and specifications
  • Maintain an effective project quality control system
  • Prepare and submit accurate documentation of quality control activities
  • Write and submit quality inspection and testing plans
  • Assist with procedures and protocols meeting industry standards
  • Assist the project team with preparation and submission of work plans
  • Communicate with the Project Manager, Project Superintendents, and project team members regarding work execution, including stopping work when required to meet quality standards
  • Ensure subcontractors and vendors provide required quality and documentation
  • Perform or participate in onsite and offsite quality inspections of self-perform work, subcontracted work, and selected fabricators/vendors
  • Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, program modifications, and continuous improvement
  • Inspect project sites to monitor progress and conformance to design specifications and safety
  • Provide periodic quality reports to management
  • Recommend opportunities for improvement on project and company-wide bases
  • Report to the Quality Manager and interact with team members across the organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in a quality control role, electrical, solar installation, or solar/electrical commissioning
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings and documents
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with people of all knowledge levels
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Some lifting between 0-50lbs is required
  • Significant travel between Ohio and Michigan, supporting multiple project sites
