About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- As a Cost and Controls Engineer you will support the project teams by driving consistency, accuracy, and visibility in cost management across projects.
- This role focuses on standardizing processes, improving reporting, and providing reliable cost and forecasting insights to support decision-making.
- You will perform critical project functions and collaborate with project team to ensure alignment with company and project best practices.
- Lead project budget setup and cost structure development, including alignment with estimate data and company standards.
- Monitor and analyze project costs, productivity, commitments, and expenditures across multiple projects.
- Develop and maintain standardized cost reports, forecasts, and dashboards.
- Support project teams with budget setup, cost tracking, and forecasting processes when needed.
- Collect project production data and produce standardized report to develop historic productivity by team.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and provide actionable insights.
- Assist with owner-required reporting and project-specific tracking requirements.
- Create and maintain RFI’s and RFI Log.
- Assist the QA/QC team in record maintenance.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or construction accounting.
- Strong understanding of construction cost management principles and project workflows.
- Experience with cost management or project systems (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work across multiple teams and projects in a structured, process-driven environment.
