About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • As a Cost and Controls Engineer you will support the project teams by driving consistency, accuracy, and visibility in cost management across projects.
  • This role focuses on standardizing processes, improving reporting, and providing reliable cost and forecasting insights to support decision-making.
  • You will perform critical project functions and collaborate with project team to ensure alignment with company and project best practices.
  • Lead project budget setup and cost structure development, including alignment with estimate data and company standards.
  • Monitor and analyze project costs, productivity, commitments, and expenditures across multiple projects.
  • Develop and maintain standardized cost reports, forecasts, and dashboards.
  • Support project teams with budget setup, cost tracking, and forecasting processes when needed.
  • Collect project production data and produce standardized report to develop historic productivity by team.
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and provide actionable insights.
  • Assist with owner-required reporting and project-specific tracking requirements.
  • Create and maintain RFI’s and RFI Log.
  • Assist the QA/QC team in record maintenance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or construction accounting.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost management principles and project workflows.
  • Experience with cost management or project systems (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and projects in a structured, process-driven environment.
