About the role
- Own the overall timeliness and accuracy of financial statements by maintaining and monitoring progress against the close checklist
- Lead the monthly close process and develop/maintain policies and internal controls for GAAP compliance
- Own preparation of high-judgement and technical areas including revenue recognition, payroll, commission expense, stock-based compensation, FX translation
- Serve as primary accounting contact during annual AICPA audit
- Partner with external tax advisors for corporate, sales and other tax filings
- Own configuration, optimization, and integration of accounting systems
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales, Operations, and HR to ensure accurate financial data
Requirements
- CPA with a strong audit foundation (Big 4 or large regional firm preferred)
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in B2B SaaS
- Experience owning subscription-based ASC 606 revenue recognition and at least one additional technical area (stock-based comp, taxes, foreign exchange, leases, etc.)
- Proven ability to run or materially lead the monthly close process end-to-end
- Strong command of the general ledger, chart of accounts structure, and balance sheet integrity
- Experience supporting external audits and working confidently with tax and legal advisors
- Fluency with accounting systems and ability to own system configuration and integrations (Xero, Carta, Avalara, Rippling, Salesforce, Airbase)
