About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Reconcile customer invoicing with 3PL inventory reporting
- Process and apply customer deduction spend to the correct GL accounts
- Apply daily cash receipts to customer accounts and reconcile accurately and promptly
- Verify material offsets and deductions charged against invoices, including trade plan spending through trade planning software
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, customers, and brokers
- Analyze trade deductions, claims, and promotions to identify trends and root causes
- Provide insights to improve trade spending efficiency and minimize outstanding receivables
- Prepare and maintain weekly AR aging reports, customer payment performance summaries, and KPI dashboards
- Document trade agreements, payment terms, and credit policies; report non-compliance
- Investigate and resolve pricing, promotion, and deduction disputes
- Work with sales, commercial finance, and customer service teams to resolve issues
- Identify and implement process improvements for AR management and trade analysis
- Support automation of AR and trade finance workflows using uploads, scanners, and Power BI reports; partner with IT on customer-specific tools
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and trade finance policies
- Dispute and collect erroneous material offsets and deductions
- Collect outstanding receivables to achieve days sales outstanding targets
- Administer credit procedures for new and existing customers
- Assist with monthly financial statement close, reconciliations, and accruals
- Assist with annual audit documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Meticulous attention to detail and highly organized mindset
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel
- Experience with ERP and Trade Management systems
- Self-motivated and accountable
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting information and summarizing key concepts
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (ideally)
- CPG industry experience (ideally)
- Familiarity with NetSuite and BluePlanner (ideally)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to answer questions about Trade Analyst experience in the CPG industry, BluePlanner experience, and Excel proficiency
