About the role

Manage, mentor, and coach a team of ~8 engineers, supporting growth through feedback, reviews, and career development
Partner with Product and Design to define roadmaps, set clear goals, and translate strategy into execution
Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and delivery processes that balance roadmap work, technical debt, and incident response
Drive architectural decisions and ensure the team builds scalable, reliable systems
Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture where engineers thrive and do their best work
Own team OKRs/KPIs, communicate progress and risks to leadership, and ensure alignment with company priorities
Support incident response and postmortems for the team’s systems
Set technical and organizational direction for a critical customer-facing platform (Core Portal)

At least 4–5 years as a hands-on software engineer (minimum 4 years)
3+ years managing engineering teams
Ability to mentor engineers and build strong, inclusive teams
Experience leading teams through growth and delivery in fast-paced environments
Comfortable balancing technical trade-offs with product and business priorities
Experience with on-call rotations, incident management, and building reliable systems
Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences
Prior hands-on engineering experience and the technical depth to guide decision-making
Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS
Familiarity with Go and AWS Nitro Enclaves (beneficial)
Authorization to work lawfully in the United States (employer asks about work authorization and visa sponsorship)
