About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Review and approve payroll runs, including off-cycle payments, bonuses, commissions, and payroll corrections
Administer and serve as subject matter expert for UKG Ready Payroll
Oversee payroll system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization
Oversee multi-state payroll compliance, including tax withholding, registrations, reporting, and federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
Own year-end payroll processes, including W-2s, W-2 corrections, 1099s, payroll tax filings, and payroll-related audit support
Design and maintain payroll internal controls, approval workflows, segregation of duties, payroll reconciliations, and SOPs
Manage and develop payroll operations
Supervise the payroll processor
Partner with Human Resources on employee lifecycle transactions
Ensure accurate payroll and benefits processing
Report to the Controller

Requirements

What you’ll need

5-7 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll and compliance
Prior experience managing or leading payroll staff strongly preferred
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred
Experience with payroll and HRIS systems such as ADP, Workday, or Paylocity
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
Ability to work remotely from a dedicated, distraction-free home workspace
