Senior Director, Business Development – Product Sales

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute business development and sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
- Identify, pursue, and close strategic sales opportunities with enterprise customers, government agencies, partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with customers, partners, and industry influencers.
- Lead complex sales cycles from opportunity identification through contract negotiation and close.
- Develop strategic account plans and drive expansion within existing customer accounts.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, operations, and leadership teams to align market opportunities with product offerings.
- Evaluate market trends, customer needs, competitive positioning, and emerging business opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements.
- Mentor and support junior sales and business development personnel as needed.
- Develop partnership, channel, and alliance strategies to accelerate market penetration.
- Prepare and present business forecasts, pipeline reports, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
- Contribute to pricing strategies, proposal development, contract negotiations, and commercial terms.
- Drive customer satisfaction and long-term account retention.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance - US Citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 15–20+ years of progressive experience in business development, enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, or related commercial leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in achieving significant revenue growth and closing complex, high-value deals.
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies in competitive markets.
- Experience working with executive-level decision makers and managing strategic customer relationships.
- Proven ability to develop and execute business growth strategies.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced negotiation and contract management capabilities.
- Strong understanding of sales methodologies, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational alignment.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills.
- High degree of business acumen and commercial judgment.
- Proficiency with CRM and sales management tools.
