About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and develop new apprenticeship opportunities across local authorities, NHS organisations, government departments, housing associations, emergency services, and wider public sector organisations.
- Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, HR teams, learning and development professionals, and procurement teams.
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, outreach activity, framework opportunities, referrals, and sector engagement.
- Lead and coordinate tender, framework, DPS, mini-competition, and bid opportunities from identification through to submission and award.
- Produce high-quality written proposals and tender responses.
- Monitor public sector procurement activity, workforce development priorities, and market trends to identify future opportunities.
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities and maintain accurate forecasting and CRM records.
- Contribute to apprenticeship start and revenue targets through new business acquisition and account growth.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in business development, account management, or sales within the public sector.
- Experience managing or contributing to public sector tenders, bids, procurement exercises, or framework opportunities.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to create compelling proposals and tender responses.
- Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders within public sector organisations.
- Demonstrable success managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and convert opportunities.
- Experience within apprenticeships, education, workforce development, training, or learning and development (highly desirable).
- Experience working with procurement frameworks, Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS), or public sector procurement routes such as CCS, YPO, ESPO, or NHS frameworks.
- Understanding of apprenticeship funding and workforce development priorities.
- Experience using procurement portals and tender management systems.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and processes.
