The State of Maine Application Development Group in support of the Department of Labor is currently looking for a mission-driven, high level Product Specialist (PS3) to help round out the Maine Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) team.
Work closely with staff to implement features that meet business needs by configuring the FAST Application
Design and delivery of site code using C#, .Net and PostgreSQL.
Code enhancement and development programs and/or required fixes to production problems using the functional and technical programming standards.
Manual test enhancement and development programs, experience with test script writing.
Participate in structured code reviews / walkthroughs.
Create and provide content for operational documentation to Team Lead.
Familiar with configuration management tools, design tools, debugging tools, software code management tools and any other environment specific tools necessary to create, test, and implement an application.
Research problems before approaching the Team Lead or Functional Architect for assistance.
Thorough functional knowledge of FAST application
Follow quality standards.
Support installation of application releases into production as directed.
Communicate accurate and useful status updates.
Ability to work in a team environment
Complete assigned tasks.
Strong communication skills; both written and spoken
Review and understand the Application Team’s workplan.
Provide status of work to Team Lead.
Anticipate, identify, track and resolve issues and risks affecting own work and work of the Application Team. Develop contingency plans as necessary.
Requirements
5+ years of experience with the design and delivery of site code using C#, .Net and PostgreSQL
FAST Application Configuration preferred
Knowledge of the software development life cycle
Proficiency in C# or other Microsoft Technologies e.g. .Net Framework v4.0 or above and Web API
Advanced experience working with PostgreSQL databases
Preference will be given to candidates with experience with FAST software
Experience conducting and critiquing Code reviews
Hands-on experience with general Internet technologies CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, Angular), web standards and internet protocols
Familiarity with Cloud Technologies e.g. Azure or AWS ecosystems
Understanding of accessibility and usability best practices
Experience with SOA/REST Services/Web API/Microservices
Experience in Continuous Integration and Delivery and other DevOps practices
Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
Excellent Communication and Partnership skills
Experience communicating technical issues to non-technical staff
Relevant industry certifications
Engage in ongoing process improvement.
Detailed functional and process knowledge.
Utilize deep modeling, design and coding skills.
Provide expertise in one or more database environments.
