About the role

  • Remote and part-time GIS Administrator for Maine state technology contract through Feb 2026
  • Role will work approximately 10-20 hours per week
  • Provide GIS support for MEGIS geodatabases and ArcGIS Enterprise in the Azure environment
  • Assist with deployment and maintenance of geospatial infrastructure and data services; coordinate with Maine Office of Technology and GeoLibrary Board
  • Manage ArcGIS Enterprise in a Azure Server Environment; MS SQL Server / Oracle RDBMS administration within the Azure environment
  • Deploy ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE administration, including multi-user versioned editing and archiving
  • Collaborate with end-user GIS community to capture, refine, and verify business requirements, and translate those requirements into technical tasks
  • Support/Maintain ArcGIS Online capabilities and web application development
  • Ensure compliance with MaineIT governance policies and Azure deployment standards

Requirements

  • Must have experience with the support & maintenance of ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 (Azure Environment)
  • Experience with Application Frameworks
  • Experience with MS SQL Server\\ Oracle RDBMS
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online capabilities and support of web application development
  • Extensive familiarity with geospatial data types
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to write clearly and effectively to communicate complex technical solutions.
  • Experience in diagnosing and correcting system malfunctions.
  • Ability to design, conduct, and evaluate system testing
  • Demonstrated experience working with technical and non-technical staff
  • Strong initiative and ability to perform with little supervision
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Must be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Desire and commitment to a high level of support to the customer, establishing and maintaining a positive relationship.
