About the role
- Serve as the authority on the technical properties, performance, and application of dielectric fluids (natural esters and mineral oil).
- Translate complex customer requirements, design specifications, and performance challenges into actionable technical solutions, recommending the correct product and application method.
- Understand basic transformer design and manufacturing processes to advise engineers and manufacturers on how the chosen insulating liquid will affect design decisions, performance, and longevity.
- Provide advanced technical support for existing and prospective customers to resolve complex issues related to fluid performance, maintenance, and equipment reliability.
- Collaborate closely with the commercial and sales teams, providing the necessary technical data, presentations, and product comparisons to secure new business.
- Develop and deliver technical training, workshops, and educational content to end-users, utility engineers, consultants, and transformer manufacturers.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical forums by writing technical papers and delivering presentations to promote product innovation and benefits.
- Oversee and manage individual technology evaluation and adoption projects within the regional scope of responsibility.
- Ensure the application of the dielectric fluids and related technical guidance aligns with all relevant industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
- Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to identify new application opportunities, product enhancement needs, and technological developments for the R&D team.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, application notes, and case studies.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical/engineering field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of professional work experience in a technical, engineering, or product support role, preferably within the electrical power systems or industrial fluid industries.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid, verifiable experience and a strong understanding of insulating liquids in transformers (mineral oil and/or natural ester fluids).
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently (often up to 50%) to support regional commercial teams and conduct on-site customer meetings and training.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution components (transformers, switchgear, etc.).
- Experience in power or distribution transformer design/manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in project and product management methodologies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) to clearly articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and cultivate effective technical relationships with high-level customer contacts (consulting engineers, EPCs, end-users).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
