About the role
- Perform application administration functions within StarLIMS and related systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Provide helpdesk-style support to laboratory staff, resolving user and system issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using SQL, logs, and system tools.
- Write Crystal Reports, SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to extract and transform data from SQL Server.
- Validate Crystal Reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
- Monitor report performance and implement corrective actions to optimize speed and reliability.
- Develop and maintain a variety of Crystal Report formats, including: Tabular, Drill-down, Matrix, Charts.
- Support both standard recurring reports and ad hoc data requests.
- Develop and prepare technical public health reports, charts, tables, and presentations.
- Produce business process documentation, data flow diagrams, and system usage guides.
- Communicate findings and technical information clearly through written and oral reports.
- Collaborate with laboratory, epidemiology, and informatics teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Information Management, or a closely related field is required.
- Minimum 3 years of Crystal Reports development experience, preferably supporting a laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with relational databases and SQL Server.
- At least 3 years of StarLIMS experience (Public Health experience strongly preferred).
- Experience providing technical support or helpdesk services.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
