About the role

  • Billing of inpatient services in accordance with the Hospital Remuneration Act (KHEntgG) and § 64b SGB V
  • Participation in model projects for psychiatric care
  • Billing of outpatient services under § 116b SGB V and handling MDK (Medical Service of Health Insurance) procedures
  • Billing of outpatient services under § 120 SGB V
  • Billing of outpatient IGEL services (individual health services) and patient transfers
  • Independently preparing and reviewing invoices in compliance with statutory requirements using SAP/ISH
  • Managing correspondence related to cost coverage with authorities, payers and patients
  • Communicating with physicians, ward staff and other departments to clarify service-related matters
  • Processing data transmissions under § 301 (admissions, discharges, invoices, cost approvals, objections, requests for medical justifications for inpatient and outpatient cases)
  • Preparing billing guidelines and notes
  • General administrative tasks
  • Assisting with the optimization of internal processes

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training as a medical assistant (Medizinische/r Fachangestellte/r) or as a healthcare administration clerk (Kaufmann/Kauffrau im Gesundheitswesen), or equivalent
  • Relevant knowledge and practical experience in hospital billing and statutory physician (Kassenarzt) billing
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • SAP knowledge desirable but not mandatory
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
