About the role

  • Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, brand designers, writers, and stakeholders to set and uphold high standards for design
  • Design visual experiences that unify and exemplify the Klaviyo design language
  • Document, maintain, and evangelize the Klaviyo Design System internally and externally
  • Transform workflows by putting AI at the center, building smarter systems and ways of working
  • Act as ambassador of the design system and drive adoption by communicating strategy, plans, and milestones
  • Highlight opportunities to use the system through design critiques, spec reviews, and team meetings

Requirements

  • Product design experience with an accompanying portfolio
  • Experience designing and building durable design systems at scale within a large product organization
  • Documentation of guidelines, standards, patterns, best practices and understanding of WCAG standards
  • Ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces
  • Strong understanding of design principles and user experience best practices
  • Experience experimenting with AI in work or personal projects
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail at a systematic and component level
  • Strong visual design sense and appreciation for getting the details right
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers and designers
