About the role
- Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, brand designers, writers, and stakeholders to set and uphold high standards for design
- Design visual experiences that unify and exemplify the Klaviyo design language
- Document, maintain, and evangelize the Klaviyo Design System internally and externally
- Transform workflows by putting AI at the center, building smarter systems and ways of working
- Act as ambassador of the design system and drive adoption by communicating strategy, plans, and milestones
- Highlight opportunities to use the system through design critiques, spec reviews, and team meetings
Requirements
- Product design experience with an accompanying portfolio
- Experience designing and building durable design systems at scale within a large product organization
- Documentation of guidelines, standards, patterns, best practices and understanding of WCAG standards
- Ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces
- Strong understanding of design principles and user experience best practices
- Experience experimenting with AI in work or personal projects
- Critical thinking and attention to detail at a systematic and component level
- Strong visual design sense and appreciation for getting the details right
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers and designers
