About the role

  • Lead the team responsible for building and scaling Kiva’s products and product experience
  • Shape the technical vision and provide hands-on technical leadership, guiding architecture and design decisions
  • Drive execution of the team’s strategy and key deliverables, ensuring on-time, high-quality outcomes
  • Lead and support a high-performing team of engineers, fostering their technical and professional growth
  • Write and review code to uphold quality, model best practices, and coach teammates through direct technical collaboration
  • Align with cross-functional partners across Product, Design, Partnership, and other Engineering teams to deliver complex, interdependent initiatives
  • Help scale product experience, including building robust self-service capabilities
  • Act as both a people manager and a hands-on technical contributor

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • At least 5 years in engineering leadership roles
  • Proven success leading teams that develop and maintain applications and services
  • Proficiency in Typescript, Kotlin, and PHP or similar object-oriented languages
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, modern DevOps practices, and scalable system design
  • Excellent communicator who can clearly convey complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, foster collaboration, and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience leading a team of 6+ engineers
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent, full-time basis; Kiva cannot provide visa sponsorship
