About the role

  • Ensure accuracy of KIPP SoCal’s financial information, supporting budgeting, projections, and reporting
  • Review and maintain monthly fiscal year cash flow model, payroll review, coding reclassifications, end-of-year projections, and budget-to-actual comparisons
  • Maintain budget trackers for school and SST budget managers; support annual budgets and long-term forecasts
  • Prepare and support financial reports for the Board, Finance Committee, lenders, authorizers, state/federal agencies, and donors
  • Manage Finance & Accounting helpdesk tickets and provide customer service for finance-related issues
  • Review monthly payroll reports and flag concerns to managers
  • Collaborate with SST teams to develop department/program budgets and produce ad-hoc financial reports
  • Perform financial and operational analyses (vendor comparisons, cost savings, operational effectiveness)
  • Serve as financial advisor and thought partner to CFO, Director of Finance, School Leaders, and ASLOs
  • Participate in regular budget meetings, partner with ASLOs on budget management, and train new budget managers

Requirements

  • BA or BS from an accredited institution
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a financial or data analysis role preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google sheets
  • Detail‐ and results‐oriented team player who is dedicated to getting the job done accurately and on a timely basis
