About the role
- Site measurements at customer locations (Greenfield/Brownfield projects)
- Prepare approval layout for Customer Design Freeze
- Conduct safety assessment for the mechanical scope of the project and define required measures
- Develop detailed concepts based on the sales layout and project requirements and integrate them into the approval layout
- Review material flow based on the sales layout and the products transported on the conveyor system
- Clarify interfaces with other trades such as steel structures, building services, etc.
- Feasibility check of the layout/material flow in collaboration with Software/Hardware Controls
- Collision checks
- Define service and maintenance access areas for the system
- Determine escape and transport routes
- Define required special/custom designs
- Ergonomic assessment of workstations
- Preliminary mockup design of workstations
- Provide engineering support in customer meetings during this engineering phase
- Create detailed layouts
- Define conveyor technology in detail
- Detailed planning of required walkways, maintenance platforms, etc. for maintenance and service
- Coordinate layout areas in detail with Software/Hardware Controls
- Detailed planning of required safety devices
- Prepare technical specifications for purchased components and coordinate technical details with suppliers
- Execute special/custom designs
- Final mockup design of workstations including technical and ergonomic fine-tuning with the customer
- Generate bills of materials for ordering Dematic conveyor components for our production
- Create purchase requisitions for bought-out components in SAP
- Prepare data lists for Hardware Controls planning
- Produce installation drawings
- Handover all information to the installation team
- Create plant risk assessment and conduct the safety inspection at the customer site together with CE Compliance
- Provide installation support remotely and on-site at the customer
- Provide engineering support during supplier FATs
- Provide engineering support in customer meetings during this engineering phase
- Manage work packages within the project team, including external engineering support.
