About the role
- Commission controls systems on-site including electrical and PLC software commissioning and to provide support to system test activities and training for the end user.
- Produce commissioning documentation including, but not limited to, commissioning checklists, tests specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments for Automated solutions to BS EN ISO 12100.
- Interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
- Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting\exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
- Ensure systems supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive.
- Commission Safety Related Part of the Controls system solutions to the regulations and in accordance with BS EN ISO 13849/13850/60204 etc.
- Maintain the Dematic image as a top-quality, professional company, by adopting an honest, professional and attentive approach whilst complying with the company policies.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level (bachelor’s degree or higher) in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related engineering field.
- 3+ years of experience as Automation/Controls/Commissioning Engineer or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with electrical commissioning.
- Ability to understand Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
- Proven experience with PLC (e.g., Siemens or Allan Bradley), HMI, SCADA development and commissioning software.
- Good understanding of bus systems (Profinet, Profibus, ASi, EthernetIP or similar).
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Project, Outlook.
- Proven leadership skills in small Team or Area management.
- An understanding of automated warehouses is desirable, not essential.
- Willingness to travel internationally to customer sites for up to 80% of the time.
- Full working proficiency in English.
- Hold a valid driving license.
