About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Documentation Reviews in accordance with established review methodologies and contract requirements.
- Support Compliance Reviews through financial analysis, documentation review, and compliance testing activities.
- Participate in planning meetings and review assignments.
- Review applicable laws, regulations, client guidance, and recipient documentation.
- Coordinate review schedules, milestones, and assigned activities.
- Evaluate financial management systems and internal controls, as appropriate.
- Assess compliance with applicable Federal regulations, grant requirements, contractual terms, and established policies and procedures.
- Conduct document reviews, interviews, analytical procedures, and transaction testing.
- Validate supporting documentation and evaluate financial records for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and maintain complete workpapers, supporting documentation, and review evidence.
- Identify findings, compliance risks, control deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop draft reports, findings, recommendations, and supporting documentation.
- Support entrance and exit conferences with recipients, as assigned.
- Coordinate review activities with the Project Manager and Government representatives.
- Ensure assigned deliverables are accurate, complete, timely, and meet established quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Financial Management Specialists, Financial Analysts, and other assigned project staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and program information.
- Support corrective action follow-up activities.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives and lessons learned.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of contract objectives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree Accounting or approved equivalent substitution.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience managing projects involving financial reviews, compliance reviews, or Federal grant oversight.
- Strong leadership, personnel management, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of Federal financial management principles and internal controls.
- Ability to analyze financial records and identify compliance risks.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare technical documentation, reports, and executive-level briefings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Certified Public Accountant (Preferred).
- Knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance) and Federal grant requirements (Preferred).
- Experience evaluating internal controls, financial management systems, and regulatory compliance (Preferred).
- Experience working with Federal clients in a collaborative environment (Preferred).
