About the role
- Identify and acquire new business through calls, emails, visits, and lead-generation methods aligned with agency guidelines.
- Conduct client and prospect appointments to assess insurance needs, present proposals, and explain coverage options.
- Submit, rate, quote, and place new business in line with agency and carrier guidelines.
- Prepare and submit accurate insurance applications, underwriting data, and loss histories.
- Collaborate with the marketing and service teams to negotiate optimal coverage and pricing.
- Develop and deliver detailed formal insurance proposals.
- Support cross-selling initiatives through a mutual referral network.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Meet or exceed predetermined sales goals.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, agency, and carrier personnel.
- Follow agency workflows and properly utilize the AMS360 and CRM systems.
- Complete sales reports, track pipeline activity, and attend required meetings.
- Stay informed on industry trends and maintain continuing education requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active Property & Casualty license
- 3–5+ years of documented successful insurance sales experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Suite
- Strong ability to determine optimal insurance solutions for clients
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and sales skills
- Ability to travel during the day up to 60%
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and minimum state-required vehicle insurance.
