About the role
- You will drive the revenue cycle from billing through collections, while acting as the business owner of tenant billing
- This includes articulating complex billing concepts to late paying customers through customer contacts via phone, email, and demand letters while negotiating payment plans to clear aging debts
- You will manage aging reports and minimize overdue receivables
- You will relentlessly look for improvements in financial and operational areas to maximize the accuracy and efficiency of our billing processes
- You will optimize billing statements for comprehensibility, accuracy and customer experience
- In this role you will work closely with the technology, finance, legal and tenant teams
- You will be the master of your work destiny, while having autonomy and ownership over roadmaps, KPIs, priorities, and initiatives for the portfolio management team
- You will have direct access and dialogue with C level executives and founders
- You will drive the systemization and automation of the program, including leveraging technology where available
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in financial operations, including complex billing and collections, or in a related utility or software setting
- Familiarity with utility or other complex billing
- Knowledge of virtual net energy metering or community solar billing is a plus
- Experience with accounts receivable management and collections, including collections management platforms, dunning processes and call scripts
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills and a strong sense of client service
- Ability to work across finance, legal, tenant and technology teams
- Analytical mindset with a passion for diving deep into data and finding solutions collaboratively
- Highly organized with a talent for developing and implementing structured processes
