About the role

  • Conduct comprehensive, on-site risk reviews of independent auto dealerships including financial analysis, operational audits, inventory verification, and fraud detection.
  • Scrub the portfolio assigned for signs of stress in a proactive manner.
  • Audit inventory records (floorplanned and non-floorplanned), including physical verification and system reconciliation.
  • Review and analyze dealership financial statements, bank activity, and other documentation to assess solvency and financial behavior.
  • Access and examine dealership management systems (DMS) to validate sales activity, funding timelines, and F&I portals.
  • Identify and investigate signs of misrepresentation, fraud, or operational risk and escalate as appropriate.
  • Prepare factual, detailed reports summarizing findings and outlining key risks and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with Dealer clients; serve as a strategic advisor for business improvement.
  • Provide guidance to Dealers on improving internal processes, financial practices, and inventory management to support long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Act as a key touchpoint for high-risk or strategic accounts, offering ongoing oversight and operational insights.
  • Exercise composure, professionalism, and tact during sensitive engagements, including collections and resolutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Lending, Sales, Select, Operations, Remarketing, and Legal to align on risk strategies and account resolution.
  • Participate in special audits, account reviews, or enterprise-level assessments as assigned.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all audits, visits, and communications using internal systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, audit standards, and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Travel extensively to dealerships across the US (up to 85%) and represent Kinetic Advantage professionally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Five (5) years in automotive, collections or financial services industry required
  • Familiarity with concepts, procedures and processes typically used in automotive and financial services industries, particularly in the Automotive Floorplan Industry.
  • Proven Track record of working independently in High-Pressure, Field-Based roles with Minimal oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of Dealership operations, Inventory controls, and financial systems.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel extensively (Up to 85%) Across the US.
  • Preferred Experience in Fraud Investigations, Credit Underwriting, and asset recovery.
  • Preferred Familiarity with Dealership Management Systems such as Dealertrack, Frazer, or Reynold’s & Reynold’s.
  • Ability to read and understand basic financial statements
  • Strong sense of urgency, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and, at times, stressful environment and the ability to handle competing demands.
  • Ability to effectively develop and maintain strong business relationships
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and anomalies with precision.
  • Risk Assessment: Skilled in evaluating operational, financial, and compliance-related risks and making data-driven recommendations.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex findings clearly and professionally to both internal and external audiences.
  • Conflict Resolution: Skilled at navigating sensitive or challenging conversations with Composure, tact, and Professionalism- Especially during On-Site Collections or Resolution processes where Dealer emotions may be elevated.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, field conditions, and travel demands.
  • Problem Solving: Resourceful and creative in developing solutions for high-risk or non-standard situations.
  • Time Management: Able to manage multiple accounts, projects, and deadlines efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), with the ability to learn and navigate dealer management systems and internal platforms.
  • Ethics & Integrity: Demonstrates the highest level of professional conduct, discretion, and accountability in all aspects of the role.
  • Business Acumen: Understands how dealerships operate as businesses and can identify ways to strengthen profitability and sustainability.
  • Ability to Stand, walk, and move throughout Dealership Lot locations and Facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will, at times, be subject to outside environmental conditions
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to effectively use a Laptop, Tablet, Smartphone, and other Mobile devices for Field work and Communication.
