Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key journalists, editors, and influencers.
Developing and placing press releases, blog posts, and other content. Owning outreach campaigns from ideation to fact checking to pitching and reporting.
Working closely with internal teams to transform proprietary data and insights into newsworthy stories that resonate with media and support our GEO, SEO, and growth goals.
Monitoring news cycles and media trends to identify proactive and reactive media opportunities.
Tracking and analyzing the effectiveness of outreach and providing regular reports to the organic growth team and management.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align PR efforts with business objectives. Mentoring and supporting junior team members, helping them grow and improve their skills.
Requirements
A minimum of 4+ years of experience in media relations and public relations with a proven track record of securing media coverage.
A background in consumer-facing fintech, insurtech or personal finance industry is a plus.
Experience building and nurturing relationships with journalists and media contacts.
Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt your style for different audiences.
A strong understanding of how earned media, including links and citations, impacts brand authority, GEO, and SEO.
You are comfortable using data for storytelling and have experience reporting on campaign performance to a variety of stakeholders.
The ability to handle and execute multiple projects on tight deadlines with an ownership mentality.
