Provide process functional leadership in Personal Care R&D for Diapers, Wipes and Specialty Pants Discovery for Kimberly-Clark North America.
Lead process engineering/development for product and/or material innovation projects from early process definition through process viability and optimization.
Provide process engineering leadership through development and execution of learning plans focused on delivering Minimum Viable Technology in manufacturing and converting processes.
Develop, direct, and execute evolutionary changes to processes as dictated by technology or product innovation.
Work across North American Personal Care, Global manufacturing facilities, and external contract manufacturers with R&D project teams and cross-functional partners.
Provide process engineering leadership to internal and external engineers to establish equipment designs that meet process and product success criteria.
Design, develop, and optimize Personal Care converting and manufacturing equipment and processes to meet business unit objectives.
Develop and deliver process learning plans in conjunction with broader R&D cross-functional project team activities and timelines.
Work closely with product, material, and engineering leads to provide functional guidance in design, development, and/or optimization of converting equipment/processes.
Acquire and transfer technical knowledge to develop solutions for existing and future equipment, processes, and products.
Coach and mentor junior engineers and develop subject matter expertise in advanced process development, problem solving, and documentation.
Ensure equipment and processes meet safety codes, policies, and guidelines and provide for safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant scientific discipline.
7 years or more of experience in manufacturing of personal care products.
Strong technical expertise, communication, and problem-solving ability.
Effective leader and implementer of projects and developments.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical direction and long-term strategy related to process engineering practices and equipment.
Strong ability to document technical knowledge.
Experience in high-speed manufacturing of personal care products (Preferred).
Effectively demonstrate leadership and behaviors to align with K-C’s Ways of Working (Preferred).
Ability to work in a matrix organization and collaborate across functions/departments (Preferred).
Experience with external technical service, sourcing, and supply vendor partners (Preferred).
Technical knowledge and experiences with high-speed manufacturing equipment (Preferred).
Prior exposure to plant/manufacturing experiences (Preferred).
