About the role
- Provide strategic leadership for automation projects impacting various locations in the North America Supply Chain.
- Partner with team members and work closely with vendors and suppliers.
- Define on-machine automation strategy and lead implementation of Automation solutions for key supply chain areas in distribution, manufacturing, and on-machine solutions.
- Carry out job responsibilities safely and set an example for others in safety matters.
- Develop equipment and processes meeting safety codes, policies, and guidelines.
- Support the development and execution of the NA SC automation strategy.
- Collaborate with Mill, Staff, Vendors, Contractors, and other KCNA/Global facilities in developing and rolling out Automation solutions for production challenges.
- Lead design discussions with Mill and Central teams to review Scope and obtain alignment and feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in engineering and 10+ years of related experience.
- Expertise in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or Mechatronics with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process and capacity improvements in capital or expense projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with individuals across all levels of the organization.
- Ability and flexibility to work in a manufacturing environment with a 24/7 operation.
- Flexibility to travel up to 25% as dictated by business need for meetings, machine install or start-up support, benchmarking, or best practice sharing across North America.
- Familiarity with Tissue and Diaper manufacturing technologies or high-speed manufacturing, Automation technologies or experience with Automated Guided Vehicles, and robotic solutions are preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in a combination of engineering, operations, and/or leadership preferred.
- Familiarity with Actioning process controls and Digital Twin technologies.
- Familiarity with capital project management, equipment installations and start-ups.
- Evidence of continuing self-development.
