About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and audit readiness.
- Support revenue accounting under ASC 606, including deferred revenue reconciliations, contract reviews, and revenue recognition entries.
- Lead accounting for leases, commissions, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses, ensuring accurate treatment and supporting schedules.
- Maintain strong accounting controls and ensure adherence to established accounting policies, procedures.
- Support external audits and compliance activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to audit support requests.
- Partner with the Controller and external advisors on sales & use tax, indirect tax, and other compliance-related processes.
- Maintain and monitor data integrity within NetSuite, identifying and implementing opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Improve and document accounting workflows across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report cycles to support scalability.
- Analyze financial results and variances, proactively identifying discrepancies, process gaps, or areas requiring management attention, and partner cross-functionally with Finance, RevOps, Legal, People, and IT on reporting accuracy.
- Mentor and review the work of junior accounting staff, supporting their technical development.
- Support ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within high-growth SaaS, technology, or recurring-revenue businesses.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including hands-on experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606.
- Experience supporting month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and external audits.
- NetSuite experience required; strong Excel and financial systems skills, with an aptitude for automation and process improvement.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and audit-readiness mindset.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and execute in a fast-paced, scaling environment; experience mentoring junior staff a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to partner across technical and non-technical, cross-functional teams.
- *Preferred:* CPA, public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional).
