About the role
- The Scientific Engagement Lead is a people leader within the International Medical Affairs Center of Excellence (IMACE).
- Accountable for setting direction, building capability, and driving execution excellence for scientific engagement delivery across International Therapeutic Areas (TAs).
- Leading a team of Scientific Engagement Program Managers.
- Establishes clear priorities, resourcing, and performance expectations to ensure scientific engagements are executed consistently, on time, on budget, and to high quality standards.
- Partners closely with IMA TAs, IMACE, as well as other relevant stakeholders, to translate engagement strategy into operational plans, standardize ways of working, continuously improve tools and processes, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Degree in life sciences/healthcare (e.g., BSc, MSc, PhD, PharmD, MD) or equivalent with strong experience in pharmaceutical industry or healthcare; relevant project management experience is an advantage.
- Fluent oral and written English.
- 8+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences, with a strong focus on scientific engagement delivery and program/project management.
- Demonstrated line management experience, or strong evidence of leading/scaling teams (coaching, onboarding, performance support) in a scientific engagement or scientific operations setting.
- Hands-on experience planning and executing scientific engagements (e.g., Advisory Boards, symposia, scientific meetings) at national and/or international level, including end-to-end operational oversight.
- Strong cross-functional partnering and influence across a matrix (e.g., Global/International Medical, Commercial, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, procurement, and external vendors).
