About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provides leadership, administration, and oversight of the University's Building Automation System (BAS), HVAC control systems, and related building management technologies.
Responsible for supervising assigned skilled trades personnel, coordinating vendors and contractors, planning preventive and deferred maintenance programs.
Supports capital improvement projects, monitors building system performance, and ensures the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of campus mechanical systems.
Conducts facility assessments and prepares recommendations regarding system upgrades, equipment replacement, deferred maintenance priorities, and capital improvements.
Ensures compliance with applicable building codes, environmental regulations, OSHA requirements, manufacturer specifications, and University policies.
Maintains effective working relationships with faculty, staff, contractors, vendors, consultants, and other campus stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, facilities maintenance, mechanical systems, or a closely related field.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Experience administering commercial building automation systems and energy management systems is preferred.
An associate's or bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
Valid driver's license.
