About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provides leadership, administration, and oversight of the University's Building Automation System (BAS), HVAC control systems, and related building management technologies.
  • Responsible for supervising assigned skilled trades personnel, coordinating vendors and contractors, planning preventive and deferred maintenance programs.
  • Supports capital improvement projects, monitors building system performance, and ensures the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of campus mechanical systems.
  • Conducts facility assessments and prepares recommendations regarding system upgrades, equipment replacement, deferred maintenance priorities, and capital improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable building codes, environmental regulations, OSHA requirements, manufacturer specifications, and University policies.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with faculty, staff, contractors, vendors, consultants, and other campus stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, facilities maintenance, mechanical systems, or a closely related field.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience administering commercial building automation systems and energy management systems is preferred.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
