Co-own, design, and scale a high-performance, data-intensive platform storage layer that services the network monitoring data
Work closely with customer service, product, and other engineering teams to develop new network data observability & intelligence features.
Help define and lead the execution of a multi-year technical roadmap for KDE Storage services and achieve industry-leading query speeds.
Collaborate with other engineering, support, and sales teams to drive platform-wide storage standards.
Solve high-visibility, challenging engineering problems related to data-intensive platform storage.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in backend development using Go/C/Rust, with a strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and high-throughput data pipelines.
Experience with Timeseries Databases, especially the storage layer, is a big plus.
Experience with object storage or distributed filesystems.
Experience designing tiered storage strategies (Hot/Warm/Cold) and TTL-based data eviction at scale.
A passion to grow personally and contribute to our team.
Strong collaboration skills, essential for Kentik's remote-friendly culture.
