About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set up and operate multiple machines
- Use computer-controlled setup and HMI interfaces to adjust programs or machines
- Load and off-load product from multiple machines
- Gauge product to ensure proper dimensions
- Scope products to verify visual characteristics and defects
- Check product samples with assigned inspection tools and record results according to process standards
- Place products into appropriate racks
- Separate scrap from good product and document accurately
- Scan correct production information
- Maintain machine tooling
- Train new operators when required
- Troubleshoot moderate to complex quality and machine issues
- Follow safety procedures and process documents
- Ensure products follow proper routings, specifications, quantity, and style
- Meet daily departmental production goals
- Communicate safety, quality, and product issues with supervisors, team members, and across shifts
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED required
- 2-year technical degree preferred
- Commitment to working safely and understanding all safety procedures
- Reliability and dependability
- Ability to work third shift, Sunday–Thursday, 11pm–7am
- Ability to work approximately 8- or 12-hour periods with scheduled breaks
- Ability to stand, walk intermittently, reach, sit, bend, and lift products weighing up to 33 pounds
- Fine motor skills to operate machinery and handle tools safely
- Visual acuity for reading gauges, inspecting products, and ensuring quality standards
- Physical stamina and ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks
- Ability to follow process documents and inspection standards
- Ability to inspect and modify tooling as required
- Knowledge of insert styles and production processes
- Ability to troubleshoot moderate to complex problems and coordinate with technical experts when necessary
- Required PPE: safety glasses with side-shields, safety shoes, gloves, and cut-resistant gloves when necessary
