About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set up and operate multiple machines
- Use computer-controlled setups and HMI interfaces to adjust programs or machines
- Load and unload products from multiple machines
- Gauge products to ensure proper dimensions
- Inspect products for visual characteristics and defects
- Check product samples using assigned inspection tools and record results according to process standards
- Place products into appropriate racks
- Separate scrap from good product and document accurately
- Scan correct production information
- Maintain machine tooling
- Train new operators when required
- Troubleshoot moderate to complex quality and machine issues
- Follow safety procedures and process documents
- Process products according to routings, specifications, quantity, and style requirements
- Meet daily departmental production goals
- Communicate safety, quality, and product issues with supervisors, team members, and across shifts
- Run orders by due date and modify tooling as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED required
- 2-year technical degree preferred
- Ability to work third shift, Sunday–Thursday, 11pm–7am
- Commitment to working safely and understanding safety procedures
- Ability to follow process documents, operating procedures, work instructions, routings, specifications, and inspection standards
- Ability to operate multiple machines and use HMI interfaces
- Ability to inspect and gauge products using assigned inspection tools
- Ability to troubleshoot moderate to complex quality and machine issues
- Ability to lift product weighing no more than 33 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk intermittently, reach, sit, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for 8- or 12-hour shifts
- Ability to use hands and fingers for fine motor tasks and safely handle tools
- Visual acuity for reading gauges and inspecting products
- Use of required PPE, including safety glasses with side-shields, safety shoes, gloves, and cut-resistant gloves when necessary
