Process Engineer
KennametalManufacturing Engineer providing technical support and process improvement within the plant. Focused on CNC operations while applying lean manufacturing methodologies.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides technical support and problem solving for manufacturing operations.
- Identifies opportunities and improves processes within the manufacturing plant.
- Defines problems, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions using standard problem solving and data analysis tools (5-Why, A3, 8D, DMAIC, etc.).
- Creates, accesses, and improves CNC programming to reduce Cycle Time and Cost.
- Develops, improves, and standardizes manufacturing processes, including documentation for safety, quality, and production systems.
- Provides leadership and assistance in implementing lean manufacturing methodologies throughout the plant.
- Analyzes data to recommend changes in method, tooling, and equipment to reduce costs.
- Provides input on capital projects, supplier quality corrective action reports, and new product development projects.
- Manages multiple demands with a sense of urgency.
- Identifies and works to eliminate variability in standard manufacturing processes.
- Supports process and equipment reliability.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 4-year technical degree or related manufacturing experience in CNC grinding, programming, machine tool design, and related manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering documentation.
- Working knowledge of CAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated experience in creative problem solving and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
