About the role
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the manufacturing and production sector
- Lead, coach, and performance-manage a sales team, fostering a high-performance and accountability-driven culture
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, trade shows, and industry events
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, and customer service teams to ensure seamless customer experience and delivery
- Prepare and present accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance metrics to senior leadership
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in alignment with company margin and profitability goals
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to inform product and sales strategy
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to close and post-sale account management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience
- Demonstrated experience selling within manufacturing, industrial, or production environments
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas in a B2B setting
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events (up to 50%)
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain, and production timelines
- Experience with capital equipment, custom fabrication, or industrial components sales (preferred)
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma environments (preferred)
- Existing network of contacts within the manufacturing or production industry (preferred)
