About the role
- Define product vision, and maintain product roadmap
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and facilitate regular communication to understand user needs to ensure features and products are aligned with business objectives
- Understand complex business processes in order to gather feature requirements from users of many different backgrounds.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new products or enhancements
- Turn product features into story backlogs, breaking feature requirements down into user-centric work items
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize product initiatives based on business value and feasibility
- Plan, prioritize and manage delivery of backlogs ensuring that team has an adequate number of prepared tasks to work on every Sprint; review process and work items with development team
- Manage ongoing priority and backlog in a quickly evolving environment
- Ensure quality level of delivery by actively participating in release process
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Coordinate releases with development team and relevant stakeholders, including marketing and customer communication
- Report on progress to stakeholders and IT management
- Communicate changes to users and educate training team and helpdesk
- Oversee product health; define and track key performance metrics to measure product success and identify areas for improvement
- Serve as an escalation point for issues and concerns about the product
- Serve as liaison between the business and development team for integrations and M&As
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer systems, business, marketing, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years equivalent work experience.
- Product management certification, such as Certified Product Manager (CPM), is desirable.
- 3+ years’ experience as a software product owner.
- Experience leading cross functional teams with Scrum methodology.
