About the role

  • Define product vision, and maintain product roadmap
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and facilitate regular communication to understand user needs to ensure features and products are aligned with business objectives
  • Understand complex business processes in order to gather feature requirements from users of many different backgrounds.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new products or enhancements
  • Turn product features into story backlogs, breaking feature requirements down into user-centric work items
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize product initiatives based on business value and feasibility
  • Plan, prioritize and manage delivery of backlogs ensuring that team has an adequate number of prepared tasks to work on every Sprint; review process and work items with development team
  • Manage ongoing priority and backlog in a quickly evolving environment
  • Ensure quality level of delivery by actively participating in release process
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Coordinate releases with development team and relevant stakeholders, including marketing and customer communication
  • Report on progress to stakeholders and IT management
  • Communicate changes to users and educate training team and helpdesk
  • Oversee product health; define and track key performance metrics to measure product success and identify areas for improvement
  • Serve as an escalation point for issues and concerns about the product
  • Serve as liaison between the business and development team for integrations and M&As

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer systems, business, marketing, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Product management certification, such as Certified Product Manager (CPM), is desirable.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a software product owner.
  • Experience leading cross functional teams with Scrum methodology.
